President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on Tuesday that the markets of agricultural credit cooperatives were not established for profit and ordered them to further reduce prices on foodstuffs across Turkey.

He added that citizens will not be crushed by inflation and demanded agricultural lending cooperatives to reduce their prices for this purpose.

It is necessary to make a 25% reduction in lamb, he added.

For his part, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Fahit Krishi made a presentation to President Erdogan that a new package of agricultural support and support for farmers should be prepared.

Kirishi said that the problems related to agricultural irrigation and power outages in the southeast, especially in Şanlıurfa, have caused grievances to farmers should be resolved.

Following the Minister of Agriculture’s speech, Erdogan summoned the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Fatih Donmez, requested an investigation into the causes of the power outage and instructed “to take the necessary measures so that citizens do not fall victim and that the power outage does not continue in the long term.”
