The number of visitors to the city rose to 6,755,300 tourists during the first half of this year.
The city of Istanbul received 1,470,586 tourists last June.
According to data from the city’s Directorate of Culture and Tourism, the number of foreign tourists coming to Istanbul last June grew by 115 percent compared to the same month last year.
Thus, the number of visitors to Istanbul increased to 6 million 755 thousand and 300 tourists during the first half of this year.
During June 2022, one million and 447 thousand and 273 tourists arrived in Istanbul via airlines, while 23 thousand and 313 visitors came to it through the sea ports.
72.29 of those arriving in Istanbul via airlines chose Istanbul International Airport to reach the city.
In terms of nationalities of foreign tourists, the Germans ranked first with 126,507 tourists, followed by the Russians with 117,169, then the Iranians with 99,115 tourists.
