The number of people who lost their lives in the earthquake in Turkey has risen to 6,234. A 3-month state of emergency has also been declared in 10 cities severely affected by the earthquake.

After the 7.7 and 7.6 earthquakes that occurred in Kahramanmaraş two days ago, great destruction occurred in Kilis, Diyarbakir, Adana, Osmaniye, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Adiyaman, Malatya and Hatay.

Education has also been suspended until February 13 in schools across the country and until February 20 in schools in the disaster area. All appropriate public buildings have been designated for the needs of sheltering victims.
