The Turkish General Administration of Immigration has made an update on the appointment booking website to update the data of the temporary protection identity “Kemlik”, with the aim of addressing the monopoly of brokers and sparing Syrians the need for them.
Reserving the appointment according to the new update requires entering a correct phone number so that the applicant can move to the next stage after entering a “code” that will be sent by text message to the entered phone number.
Turkish immigration limited the number of appointments that can be obtained through the same number to only 3, which prevents brokers or intermediaries from being able to book random appointments and sell them at a later time to Syrians.
It is expected that other decisions will be issued in the coming days that will grant facilities to Syrian refugees, especially with regard to the renewal of residency and the condition of the validity of the passport, according to what sources in the Syrian-Turkish Joint Committee confirmed after its meeting with the General Department of Migration.
