
The expectations of the Central Bank of Turkey regarding the exchange rate of the US dollar and the inflation rate in the country have changed by the end of the current year 2023.
According to the Central Bank’s survey, in which a number of representatives of the real sector, the financial sector, and professionals participated, it was noted that expectations regarding the exchange rate of the dollar / lira decreased.
According to the survey, the dollar/Turkish lira forecast by the end of the year was lowered from 23.12 to 22.84, while the forecast after 12 months decreased from 23.43 to 23.10.
Market participants expected inflation to be 30.75% over the next 12 months, up from expectations in the previous survey period of 30.44%.
Respondents’ inflation forecast for the next 24 months was set at 18.11 percent.
The one-week repo rate forecast for the end of the current month was 9 percent in this survey period, as it was in the previous survey period.
