The Argentine soccer player, Lionel Messi, and the French star, Paris Saint-Germain, won the award for the best player in the world, Monday evening.

The International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) presented the award to the Argentine star, at a grand ceremony held in the French capital, Paris.

Among the competitors for the heart were Mbappe and the other Frenchman, Karim Benzema, the Spanish Real Madrid striker, who was crowned with the recent Golden Ball award from “France Football” magazine.

Messi had led a national team to win the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, having defeated the French national team in the final match, which was decided by penalty kicks in favor of the tango dancers after the end of the original and extra time with three goals for the same.

The ceremony also witnessed the awarding of the best coach award to Argentine Lionel Scaloni, and his compatriot Emiliano Martinez the award for best goalkeeper.

It is noteworthy that the Best Awards ceremony was supposed to take place in December 2022, as is always the case, but the holding of the World Cup in the winter postponed the ceremony to this February.
