Turkish Interior Minister Suleiman Soylu announced the number of Syrians in Turkey.

In a tweet he posted on his personal account on the social networking site Twitter, he said: “There are now 3 million and 911 thousand Syrians registered in Turkey.”

On the other hand, he confirmed that the number of people who lost their lives in the earthquakes that were the center of Kahramanmaraş rose to 50 thousand and 783 people.

He pointed out that there are also people who lost their lives and were buried without receiving a death report from the Public Prosecutor, indicating that there are also immigrants among those who lost their lives in the region.

He added, “The number of people who have lost their lives so far and whose deaths have been registered by the General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs is currently 50,783.”

He explained that DNA samples were taken for identification, saying: “We are trying to compare them with each other, so not all of these 985 are citizens of Turkey … among them are foreign citizens.”
