Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that the Ankara-Sivas high-speed train line will be free until the end of May of this year.

The Ankara-Sivas high-speed train line was opened on Wednesday.

Turkish Vice President Fuad Aktay, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adel Kara Ismailoglu, and Vice President of the Justice and Development Party Ben Ali Yildirim participated in the opening ceremony.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, in a statement on social media: “The Ankara-Kirkale-Yuzgat-Sivas high-speed line will be free until the end of May.. It will be beneficial for our nation.”

One of the most important features of the train is that it runs at a speed of 250 km / h, and will reduce the distance between Ankara and Sivas from 603 km to 405 km.

The travel time between Sivas and Ankara will be reduced to only two hours, and the travel time between Ankara and Yozgat will be reduced to one hour.

The project includes 8 stations: Elmadag, Kirikkale, Yerkoy, Yozgat, Sorgun, Ak Dağmadani, Yıldızli and Sivas.

It also provides the opportunity to travel by train to about 1.4 million people living in the mentioned states.
