This came, after yesterday evening also witnessed more tension between the Israeli forces and the Islamic Jihad Movement, especially after the killing of Iyad al-Abd al-Hassani, a member of the Military Council and responsible for the Operations Unit of the al-Quds Brigades (the armed wing of the movement), bringing the number of leaders killed since last Tuesday by targeting. New Egyptian proposal

Yesterday evening, Friday, Cairo presented a new formula for the cease-fire, which the Islamic Jihad movement responded to, but the Israeli response has yet to come. Al-Arabiya.net sources revealed that the proposal included a mutual cessation of attacks between the two sides, and a commitment to avoid harming civilians.

Sources in the Islamic Jihad movement accused the Israeli side of obstructing the Egyptian efforts.

The movement had previously confirmed that it adhered to its demands, which is to stop the assassinations and return the body of the prisoner Khader Adnan, who spent last week in Israeli prisons following a 3-month hunger strike, as well as stopping the flag march in the Old City of Jerusalem next Thursday.

On the other hand, Tel Aviv rejected those conditions, adhering to the principle of a cease-fire in exchange for a cease-fire only.

It is noteworthy that this escalation, which erupted between the two sides since last Tuesday, has so far claimed 33 Palestinian lives, including 6 children and one Israeli.
