Syrian President Bashar al-Assad arrived in Jeddah today, Thursday, to participate in the 32nd Arab Summit, for the meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States, tomorrow, Friday.

Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz had sent an invitation to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to participate in the Arab Summit to be held in Riyadh.

And the Saudi Press Agency, “SPA”, reported that the Saudi ambassador to Jordan, Nayef bin Bandar Al-Sudairy, delivered the invitation during his meeting with Al-Assad in Damascus.

While the Syrian Foreign Minister, Faisal al-Miqdad, considered that what is happening is tantamount to “the return of the beloved to his beloved,” according to what he stated to a Russian media outlet.

At the same time, the United States rejects any attempt to normalize and repopulate Assad, whom it described as a “brutal dictator” and “tyrant,” for considerations related to the crimes he committed over the past 12 years of the Syrian revolution.
